Fortuna Academy : Chapter 2- Fortuna Academy Tour- Part 1

"Your IDs please." Said an attendant standing behind a counter at the disembarking gate. Ryuuga, Yumi and Jin did as requested. "Now, put your luggage on this magic seal." Ryuuga did as she said.

"Ok,now what?"

The attendant inserted Ryuuga's ID on a card reader near the magic seal. In a flash of light, Ryuuga's bag disappeared. "Where did it go?" Asked the silver-haired teen slightly mesmerized." When the IDs are made, the dorm room data for each student is loaded on it. This magic-powered device reads that data, and sends anything on that magic seal to that room."

"Nifty." Ryuuga said. Yumi and Jin followed suit and got their bags transported as well.

"All sent. Now, please make your way to the reception hall to get your Student PCs."

A few moments after leaving the disembarking gate, Ryuuga,Yumi and Jin found themselves on the colossal academy campus. Yumi and Jin looked around in awe. The trio couldn't help but admit that it was pretty impressive. The gardens and the floor showed signs of great care.They tilted their heads back to see the top of the school building. The rows and rows of windows seemed endless.

"It's...better than I imagined." Ryuuga said noticeably amazed. Yumi and Jin nodded in agreement. "But we'll have plenty of time to check the school grounds. First, let's go to the reception hall." He said as he started to walk around. "Ok." They both said as they followed suit.

At that moment, Ryuuga sensed something. "Hm?" He muttered as he turned his head towards the source of that strange feeling. It was a Spiky-blonde, red eyed boy wearing a black vest with silver lining, grey baggy pants, a black belt with an white buckle and black and grey sneakers. He had a melancholic expression on his face."That guy..."

"Hey, you ok?" Jin asked snapping his fingers in front of Ryuuga repeatedly. Ryuuga was startled. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine, I zoned out for a minute, sorry." He replied quickly.

"I felt an ominous energy coming from that guy for a second...Maybe I'm imagining things..." Ryuuga thought. "Let's just go." Ryuuga suggested.

"I'll lead the way!" Jin said going ahead of them.

A few minutes later...

"Ok, this can't be right. We've passed this park like, 4 times." Jin said.

"Do you even know how to get there?" Yumi asked.

There was a moment of silence.

Jin then realized. They were lost. "Oh, shi-"

"You're new to the academy, right?" Asked a male voice out of nowhere. The three looked around for the source of the voice. Suddenly, they were surprised by a giant Card of Spades appearing in front of them, and from that card, emerged a green-haired man in his mid-20s, sporting a black fedora, a gray jacket, black dress pants, a white sleeveless shirt underneath the jacket, a black tie and brown shoes." Pleased to meet you. I'm Tamashii Roda. I work here as a teacher. "He said extending his hand. Ryuuga shook hands with him.

"My pleasure. I'm Ryuuga Yoshida."

"Yumi Suzuki." She said with a bow.

"Jin Takamura." Said Jin bowing as well.

"Oh, you're the ones who defeated the Air imps that invaded the airship." Tamashii said."And...If memory serves...you two..." He turned to Jin and Ryuuga. "are the ones who defeated Kodachi and Zack as your entry test, weren't you? And you..." He faced Yumi. "...are the one who passed the written test with a nearly perfect mark, correct?"

"How do you know that?" Yumi asked curiously. "The news spread pretty fast around here.But that aside,I couldn't help but hear that you're lost." He replied.  "Anything I can help with?" Tamashii asked politely.

"Well, yeah. We're looking for the reception hall." Yumi replied. "Could you show us the way?"

"Better than that." He replied, snapping his fingers. A giant Card of Hearts appeared underneath them, followed by a flash of light. "Wha-"they vanished into thin air. They materialized somewhere else. The trio seemed a bit dizzy. "Whoa....that was trippier than the time I mistook dad's Sake bottle with an water bottle." He remarked. "Please don't remind me of that." Said Yumi shuddering at that event's memory. Ryuuga simply chuckled, as did Tamashii.

"That's a common reaction to first timers. You get used to it after a while." Said the green-haired man. "Well, here's the reception hall. Now if you excuse me, there this particular student I need to check on. If you need anything, just give me a call." He finished as he summoned another Card of Hearts and vanished. "Thanks!" Jin shouted.

The blonde boy from earlier walked nervously through the academy grounds.

"Is that one of the new boys?" came a voice from the sea of whispers as he walked past the students. He gulped nervously and turned a familiar shade of red.

"Wow..." said another voice sharply. "He's pretty cute! I'd hit that!"

And now the familiar shade of red became even brighter."I don't think this was a good idea, Roda..." He whispered. He was then surprised by a familiar card appearing in front of him. A familiar face emerged from the card. "What was that?" Asked Roda jokingly. "GODDAMNIT, RODA, DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THIS!" He shouted as he got up. Tamashii laughed at his reaction. "Sorry, Ed. But that aside, how are you doing so far?"

"I don't know...Are you sure this is gonna help me? " The blonde asked, the uncertainty in his voice being obvious.

"Well, I promised that the school would help you with your powers. Forming bonds with other students is something that will require your own strength and confidence and that alone. But I know you can do it. I believe in you Edward." Said the man in a more serious tone. "But whatever troubles you have, I'll be here to help.That's what teachers are for, right?" He asked, patting the boy's shoulder. He nodded confidently.

"I-I'll try my hardest."

"That's the spirit!" Said Tamashii. "Listen, I have to plan the lessons for the first day. If you need me, I'm at the teacher's lounge." Edward nodded again. Roda snapped his fingers and vanished with one of his cards. Edward went back to walking around the academy.

"Why do you struggle?"Asked a omnious voice inside his head.

"SHUT UP!" He shouted nervously in his head.

"You can struggle all you want, but you can't deny what you are." Said the voice again, laughing omniously.

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" He shouted again, gripping his head. "JUST GO AWAY!"

The voice laughed again. "You can't run..." It said before it's presence disappeared.

"You won't control me again!" He swore to himself. "Now calm down, anger fuels him. You can't lose it. Just calm down" The boy said mentally, slowly calming down as he did so. "Excuse me..." Called a female voice from behind the blonde. The boy turned around to meet with a pair of green eyes. They belonged to a black-haired girl with wings sprouting from her back. She wore one of the academy uniforms, and a pair of blue glasses.

"Are you...Edward Redneck?".The boy got flustered again.

"Uh..it's Redbark. B-but yeah, that's me." Said the boy nervously.

"Oh! I'm sorry. My mistake." Said the girl bopping her head playfully while sticking her tongue out.

"I'm the student council's vice president. My name is Shiori Brunel. Pleased to meet you." She said with a beaming smile and a bow. Edward bowed as well. "N-Nice to meet you too, S-Shiori." Shiori started to examine his face. This proximity, of course, caused the shy boy the get even more flustered. "Uh…w-what?"

"Are you alright? You're sweating a lot and your face is red." The girl asked concernedbefore placing her forehead on his, which, of course, caused Edward to get even more flustered, his face getting redder and redder. "You don't look like you have a fever. But your face is red. Are you sure you're ok?"

"Uh..I'm...i'm ok..." He said.

"Ok, then. C'mon let me show around the academy!" Shiori said cheerfully, grabbing the boy's arm and pulling him around. "W-whoa! O-ok."

"This may not be so bad after all..." Edward thought, forgetting completely about his previous argument with "the voice".

"Welcome to Fortuna Academy. Can I help you?" Asked the redhead receptionist."Yes. We were told to come here and get our...Student PCs or something" Jin replied.

"Ah, yes. Here you go." Said the woman as she handed over a small, silver-colored device to each one of them.

"What are those?" Asked Yumi as she examined it. "This is a tool that allows you to communicate with any student or teacher in this school that you have registered in it's database. It also work as a personal schedule. You can register any events or appointments there. It has plenty of other functions.There's a virtual instruction book loaded into it should you have any other questions"

"Thanks" They said as they left the reception hall. "So, where should we check first?" Asked Jin. "This place is so big I don't even know were to start."

"Stop complaining, dummy." Said Yumi. "Besides, this thing has a map of the whole academy loaded into it."

"Let me see that." Said Ryuuga.

"Here". As she pressed a button, an holographic map of the school popped out from the PC's screen. "How about this place first?" Yumi suggested pointing at a chapel. "This seems nice." Said Ryuuga.

"What are we waiting for, then? Let's hop to it!" Jin said.

Shiori was still taking Edward on a tour around the academy. "What do you think of it so far, Edward?" Shiori asked. "Um...It's really great..." He said in his usual shy tone. Shiori giggled. "W-What's so funny?" Asked Edward. "You're really shy, aren't you?" She asked curiously. "Uh-"

"Hmm, such a pretty lady." Said a male voice belonging to a green-haired tall teen. "You're Shiori Brunel, aren't you? I'm Lloyd Lusene. Salutations" He turned his gaze at Edward. He grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt. That attracted the attention of the passerby students

"Why would a fine lady like you associate with such a lowly peasant?" He asked before throwing him aside. "EDWARD!" She was tried to go to his aid but Lloyd grabbed her arm.

" Come now, wouldn't someone like me be better than this sort of scummy guy? Why don't we ditch him and go have fun somewhere else, just the two of us?" He asked arrogantly. This made Shiori instantly angry.

"I'd never associate with someone as arrogant as you! Now let me go!" She yelled, trying to break free from Lloyd's grasp. "Come on, don't be like this." Then, someone grabbed Lloyd's wrist. He turned his head to see Yumi with a angry look on her eyes.  

"The girl said no, so back off."

Lloyd laughed. "Learn your place, woman." He said defiantly. "A weakling like you doesn't scare me." Yumi frowned at the comment.

"This your last chance." She threatened. "Let her go."

"And what exactly will you do if I don't let her go?" He asked, once again in his defiant tone. Ryuuga and Jin made an "Oh, shit" face after Lloyd said that. Yumi smiled.

"This" Was all she said before gripping Lloyd's shoulders and smashing her knee on Lloyd's jewels as hard as she could. Ryuuga and Jin made a "That's gotta hurt" face as a reaction. Lloyd's black eyes rolled up in to his head as he fell over moaning in pain.

"Now listen to me you pompous asshole" She said loudly lifting his head by the hair.

"If I see or hear that you picked on someone or harassed any girl in this academy, we will meet again. But this time, I'll make sure you never walk again. Got it?" Ryuuga and Jin chuckled.

"C-crys...tal" Lloyd muttered.

"Good." She let go of his head and then turned to the two students Lloyd was harassing. Shiori was taking care of Edward.

"Are you all right?" Shiori asked worried. Edward nodded. Shiori sighed in relief.

"Is everything ok?" Yumi asked the two. They both nodded. "T-Thanks." Said Edward. Shiori nodded. "Don't mention it." Yumi replied.

"That ought to teach him a lesson" Ryuuga remarked "That was awesome, baby." Jin added.

"Oh hush up both of you." Yumi said, a bit flushed.

"Um...Are you new students too?" Shiori asked. The trio nodded. "Yeah, we just arrived here. We're checking around the academy. I'm Yumi Suzuki." Yumi said introducing herself. "This is my friend Ryuuga..."

Ryuuga saluted without saying a word

"And my boyfriend Jin."

"Hey." He greeted

"Pleased to meet all of you. I'm Shiori Brunel."

"Um...I'm Edward Redbark...nice to meet you all."

"Our pleasure."

"You said you're walking around the academy, right? I was just showing Edward here the academy too. Do you mind if we join you?" Asked Shiori. "Sure. We don't mind." Said Yumi.

"Do you mind if we go with them, Edward?"

"N-not at all..." Edward replied.

"Great! Let's go then!" Shiori said happily pulling Edward by his arm.
